The News
Social

News Social: a harassment-free experience.

The News Social will be a dedicated space for the global news media, and anyone with a stake or interest in news. Primarily, it will be a place for Project Kontinuum’s partners to showcase, discuss or share news stories.

What will set this platform apart lies at the very core of its existence. Owned and controlled by a non-profit, The News Social will never prioritise anger or outrage. It’s not in the attention game. It doesn’t feed on likes or clicks.

It’s a safe space with no algorithms and multiple ways to set up personal filters.

An oasis in an AI generated desert

Primary posting rights will be given to verified, bona fide news media, media professionals, newsmakers and industry experts. Publishers and visitors will experience no harassment, unwanted content or abuse.

Those on the platform will be able to customise their feeds. They’ll filter content according to location, publication types, specific publishers or creators, sectors, reactions to their own content or comment visibility. Visitors will be free to post reactions as text, image or video.

No need to create new content

Initially, publishers won’t need to create new content for this platform. The News Social will use existing content, in all media formats. It will incorporate social media feeds the news publishers are already using, pulling across content, reactions, comments and threads.

Over time, we believe The News Social will become a complete daily image of news content around the world.

We’ll share  the advertising  revenue with publishers

Project Kontinuum will verify, approve and monitor those who have posting rights on The News Social. These checks will be done by dedicated teams of media professionals.

This means advertisers will find a secure platform, where their adverts will never share space with harmful or brand-damaging content. Adverts also won’t drown in a surge of generative AI content that’s overwhelming the information ecosystem.

We’ll distribute a majority of the advertising revenue we earn with participating news media.
